Research on pocket wifi typically focuses on the technology and its impact on various aspects of life, including business, travel, and communication.

Aimed to provide the best for all kinds of travelers to travel with ease and staying connected whenever and wherever they are while traveling overseas.

To merge connectivity and simplicity into one and to bring more conveniences to travelers with just a few simple steps.

The mobile app allow users to self manage their trips as well as purchasing of data plans with the possibility of adding multi country usage.

The Solution

To make the app user friendly for different types of age group and types of travelers.

The app should create a seamless experience for users and they should be able to immediately identify how to get around the mobile app.

Understanding the problem

Based on the market research, It’s commonly used by different types of travelers and business professionals ranging from 24-60 years old. It is also specially targeted for travel agencies for travel tour usage.

It is often used to stay connected to the internet for the purpose of navigation, communication and socialising on media.

A pocket Wi-Fi app may result in a poor user experience if it is not user-friendly or intuitive. It should be suitable for different age groups.

Users may find it difficult to navigate the app or perform basic tasks such as purchasing of data plans, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction.

Visual appearances

Icons and buttons make it easier for users to understand and navigate through the app. It provides user with a clear and actionable way to interact with a digital product.

With reference to hotels and airlines mobile app, I came up with a general roadmap to get myself started with developing the pocket wifi app.

Solution 1

Filtering Products

Implement filtering and sorting tools to help users narrow down their data needs between a Pocket Wifi, SIM or an eSIM.

It gives a clearer way to select the product that best suits their needs by allowing them to filter plans by: Daily, Monthly or Volume.

Product Display
Users can easily compare two plans side by side. This streamlined view simplifies the decision-making process by allowing users to quickly assess the key features and pricing of the plans they are considering.

Product Images provide users with a visual representation of the product appearance. It helps the users to identify the product and it makes decision making quicker.

Solution 2

Getting a pocket wifi

After choosing appropriate plans, users will have to select the country, date of travel and go through a payment summary page to ensure that users have a clear and accurate understanding of their purchase, including the country and date they have chosen, before they complete the payment.

Solution 3

Getting a SIM/eSIM

Users can select between a SIM or an eSIM based on their preference. This includes information about data speeds, country coverage, and any additional features or services included with the plan.

Having a side by side comparison helps users assess their needs better and make an informed decision.

Additional Information

Simplifying the process of setting up and using a SIM/eSIM is crucial for user satisfaction. A “How To” page can guide users through the initial setup, ensuring they have a smooth onboarding experience.

Take Aways

Participating in yearly Travel events gave me the opportunity to gather life-time feedbacks from existing and new customers of the app. Below are some of the observations and insights that I have gathered.

I managed to study the broad range of users. Including those who use the app for different purposes or in various travel scenarios.

I was able to see how users interact with the app, and identify issues or pain points that are challenging for them.
