Problem Statement

Today, majority of the food delivery platforms focuses on a comprehensive approach towards basic transactions and a seamless user experience. However, the lack of user interaction in food delivery platforms often hinders the ability to understand the needs and preferences of their target audience accurately. Traditional food ordering platforms lack a robust user-generated content in which food delivery platforms can benefit from fostering community engagement.

Project Outline

What is GastroHouse?

Project Goal

Scope of project

Understanding the users

User Interview

To better understand the users of the app, I conducted user research to understand the users motivations, behaviours and pain points among 10 participants.

Through this research, I will be able to tailor the app’s features and design to meet their needs and improve the user experience.

User Persona

The insights I got from the user interviews conducted led to this user personas.

Empathy Map

The empathy map provides insights into the user’s mindset, enabling the design team to develop features and functionalities that can enhance the overall dining experience.

User Pain Points

Addressing these pain points through improved features, user interface enhancements, and better communication can help enhance the overall user experience of the app.

Ideation and prototyping

“How might we enhance the user experience of a food delivery app that ensures the engagement of the users and improves the interactivity of the app.”

Crazy 8s

Within a focused 8-minute timeframe, I generated a multitude of rough sketches, exploring diverse concepts for user interface layouts, reservation flows, and content presentation.

User Flow

This flow simplifies the process of making a food delivery, discovery of dining experiences and making reservations seamlessly.

Wireframes

Low Fidelity

Following the creation of the crazy eights, I proceeded to translate the sketches into low fidelity wireframes. This was done to get a glimpse of what the end product will look like.

High Fidelity

The hi fidelity represents a pivotal stage in the design process where the initial stage of concepts and wireframes turn into a visually functional interface.

Main Screen

Upon opening the app, users can seamlessly integrate into the app by having the options to effortlessly make table reservations and order meals for delivery, all without leaving the home screen.

This design ensures a delightful culinary experience with every tap, combining content viewing, table reservations, and food ordering into one convenient platform.

Delivery

This intuitive interface breaks down food delivery choices into cuisines, allowing users to effortlessly browse and discover their favourite flavours nearby.

With a seamless blend of convenience and exploration, this screen ensures that users can satisfy their cravings with ease while discovering new culinary adventures right at their fingertips.

Reservation

A streamlined selection of restaurant and cuisine where each offering the opportunity to make a table reservation.

Users can select their preferred restaurant, indicate the number of guests, choose a booking date, and select their desired timing from available options.

With intuitive controls and seamless navigation, users can confidently plan their dining outings with ease, ensuring a memorable experience awaits at their chosen venue.

Community

This allows users to unleash their imagination by providing tools to record and produce captivating content meant for the community of food lovers.

Whether it’s showcasing their food recommendations or restaurant highlights, users can get inspired with a diverse content related to food and dining experiences.
